#zeroLRA

Hello again everyone! I know, it's been way too long since I've made a post on my blog. But I've returned with something really exciting to share with you.
For those of you who don't know, I am a member of Invisible Children at Virginia Tech. We are one of many small branches that stem off of the Invisible Children Foundation.

Some of you may be asking what this foundation is, who runs it, what is their purpose? Well clear your minds and be ready for many questions to be answered!
Invisible Children is an organization that is working to put the LRA to an end and to free all women and child soldiers within their captivity. The LRA (Lord's Resistance Army) was created by a man named Kony who thought he heard God tell him to create an army to rise up against his government. But when that failed and people lost interest in his campaign, he began kidnapping thousands of children from all over Uganda, forcing them to be child soldiers. He forced them into doing all kinds of brutal and horrific acts against people for no reason. Now Kony has left Uganda and, as of today, has been terrorizing Central Africa. It wasn't until three guys, Jason Russel, Laren Pooled, and Bobby Bailey, who went on a journey to Africa for the purpose of documenting random life events on film, found out about these child soldiers through people they ran into and decided to do something about it.
They made a documentary of all the people and events that took place in Uganda during their stay and met many who lost friends and family to the LRA. The men came back to America in hopes of finding help from our government, their family and friends, and even the help of The American people. They helped to make the organization, Invisible Children, and are now known worldwide! They are now closer than ever to putting an end to Kony's terror on Africa and freeing all Child soldiers. But they need your help!
They're campaign this year is called #zeroLRA, which means they are fighting to free all child soldiers. We stand for nothing, no child soldier left behind.
If you want to help this cause, you can donate to my page > give.invisiblechildren.com/ICVT
Each dollar you donate goes towards making one flier out of thousands that will be dropped by an airplane across Central Africa.

The cards tell the children that they are still loved by their family and that they are able to escape freely. About 80% or more of the rescued child soldiers have said they found the flier and it helped encourage them to escape safely. The money also goes towards setting up radio towers to send out mass messages with familiar voices telling the children to come home.
This can all be done with your help! Please share this message with your friends and family members and ask for their support! Remember, every dollar you donate could save a life!
Keep these children in your prayers.
Have a great day and God Bless!
