Christ-Centered Life

Many people from around the world look at life in the same perspective, where it revolves around them. It happens to us all. We tend to make decisions and plans based on our own time, needs, and values. But if we continue to live life with us at the center, life would feel empty. Life has a purpose, but that purpose is not to please us, but rather Christ Jesus. Life is meant to be about glorifying our God and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Without him, there is no life, only death. For it is said, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."(Romans 6:23). I'll give an analogy to help you to better understand this concept.

Think of Life as like the Solar System.

The Solar System is made up of a Sun and 8 Planets (sadly Pluto is no longer considered one of them).
For this analogy, the sun will represent us ( or me) and the planets will represent all the things that are a part of our lives that we value most.

Here's another diagram:
What people tend to value most are Friendships, a Job, Family, School, Sports, Relationships, Money, and if you're a Christian, Jesus.

This is how most people view life. We view life as being centered around us. We value the sports that only interest us, we want our dream job, we want money to indulge in delicacies, we want relationships that are fun and centered around our needs and wants, we spend time with Jesus only on holidays and at Church and then go back to OUR lives during the week. In this diagram, life is all about US. We like to keep ourselves at a distance from our faith. We choose to allow God only into parts of our lives, but choose to keep him out of the rest.  But is this the way we should be living?

Let's look at another diagram:

Do you see the difference in this one? In this diagram, life is centered around Jesus Christ and everything revolves around him. This is the way that life was intended to be, the way that God intended for us to live. If we center our lives around Christ, we will not only receive all that we ask and we need, but we live a life filled with purpose and true joy. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33). Everything comes from God. Without him, there is nothing. After all, he is the one who created me and you. It's a lifestyle where you are putting yourself second and God first. For it is said, "He must become greater; I must become less." (John 3:30). When you do that, you are saying that life is not about you, it is about God, and then will feel true joy in putting the Lord before yourself and your needs. For God intended for life to be about glorifying God's Holy name and loving one another through Christ Jesus. For it is said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'".(Matthew 22:37-39). When you live your life with Christ at the center of it all, then you can live life to the fullest. Jesus once said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."(John 10:10). Those who choose to live a life centered around Christ will be able to live life in all that God made it to be.
A life centered around Jesus Christ, is definitely a life worth living.
To learn more about living a Christ-Centered life, a helpful book to read is "It's Not About Me" by Max Lucado. It forever changed my perspective on life and Christ.
God Bless!
